[Drivers] Official Windows 8 Beta Drivers

#1

My InfiniTV is working fine in 8 but I was curious if there is a projected date when W8 certified drivers will be available. I believe someone said about the time Echo is released which is around the end of November.

We are working extremely hard on them right now, going through our internal testing right now.

The release or the beta?

I'm using the beta drivers in Windows 8 and they seem to be working well with the exception of sleep which has been causing random reboots. So I would suggest disabling sleep mode until Ceton releases a Windows 8 specific driver...

I would recommend the beta drivers

That's great news Motz! Since I've been using the W7 drivers, should I uninstall them prior to installing the W8 drivers or just simply upgrade them?

Thanks!
Chuck

I would highly recommend you uninstall first. We have tested upgrade, but it uses only .net 4.0 so no need for older .net 3.5 stuff

I downloaded this driver package, however when I try to install it, it says it's the Ceton Companion Services? I was thinking I was installing the Windows 8 InfiniTV drivers... Any ideas?

The "Ceton InfiniTV Installer (2012.11.26.0820)" link on the Ceton site is pointing to http://update.cetoncorp.com/get/compani ... atest/beta

That's what I suspected was happening, hope it's fixed soon!

Do these drivers have support for more than 4 tuners? Trying to figure out if I should install the new tuners I got for BF.

Also, I installed them and almost had a heart attack when it started updating PlayReady. It's rare that THAT succeeds but it did this time. All recordings are preserved.

Can anyone confirm if we can use 8 tuners on Windows 8 yet?

This is odd...
after installing the new 8 drivers, my cablecard status now has a red minus next to "ask cable company to send validation signal".
I didn't expect any channels to work, but they seem to work fine.. (CNN, ESPN, TBS, and other copy once channels).

I did a reboot and it still has the red minus. Weird.

Yes
Motz, what's the trick to configuring this? Media Center will only let me configure 4 tuners.

A few questions:
1.) Fresh Install of Windows 8 or upgrade?
2.) If upgrade did you uninstall and reinstall the drivers?
