Infinitv4 & more than 4 tuners

#1

Post by choliscott » Sun Nov 18, 2012 9:24 am

Hi Everyone,

To my understanding the latest Ceton Infinitv4 drivers detects more then 4 tuners, so the use of Tuner salad is no longer needed. However it seems every time I have my tuners detected, it says there's 8, but only 4 is usable, which I end up having to use Tuner Salad.

Would there be a reason why it's won't allow for all 8 tuners?

Even if I go to "No Show more Options, & select cable, cable card, etc, it shows all 8 tuners, with 4 "Grayed out"

Thanks

I had this issue once. I was able to fix it by removing the drivers, rebooting and then reinstalling the latest driver package. The Ceton Drivers are supposed to update WMC to allow for more tuners. Sometimes (at least for me) it doesn't always work but reinstalling the drivers usually fixed it.

Try restarting your PC. If that doesn't work, is the Ceton InfiniTV Service running?

Restarting the computer seemed to fix it. Quick question since I have 2 infinitv 4's, if I wanted to add a Homerun prime, would I need to use Tuner Salad, or does the infinitv4 drivers override the 4 tuner limit for all tuner devices?

Provided at least one InfiniTV is installed, it should increase the limits for all tuners. Obviously we can't support non-Ceton tuners, but it should work.

Do you need an M cable card for each infinitv card in the media center?
I have a second card to install I just wasn't sure if I needed to get an additional card for it.

Oh yeah, each InfiniTV is going to need a multi-stream cablecard.
