Does anyone know how to get my games back in Extra's? It seems a bit empty at the moment and I can't find a way to get 'em back.

Open MC
Click Tasks/Settings
Start Menu and Extras
Extras Library
Select what you want added by placing a check mark on what you like, When done click Save.

They should now be listed in Extras. :)

That's the whole point, there is nothing to select. Are you having games in Extra's?

extras games.PNG
Are all your games missing from the list?

You could try clicking Start, Type Games in search and open Games Explorer
Click Options, Unhide all games? Does that help?

If not you could try opening a elevated cmd. prompt and type sfc /scannow and let it repair any corupt system files and see it that gives you the option to re-enable the games through Tasks/Settings again after..

Are we still talking Windows 8? I don't have game explorer as I did in Windows 7.

Ahh sorry thought you were on 7.. Hmm.. Well I guess I'm out of options for you at this point as I haven't taken the Win 8 plunge yet. Sorry for the confusion on my part Nico. Guess it may have been removed when MS did their minor overhaul on MC??

Cool. I'll have to show my kids that they can play games on their TV's! Of course, this is on Win7... and just another reason not to upgrade to Win8.

Sorry to resurrect this post, but I think I'm in a similar situation.
I'm running Win 8.1 Pro 64-bit w/ Media Center, and my Extras Library is completely empty. All I get is "No Extras are available".
I've tried the following...

1. Settings > General > Automatic Download Options > Download Now
2. Command line:
cd %SYSTEMROOT%\ehome
start /wait mcupdate -u
3. Uninstall/reinstall WMC

.. with no success. Is there anything else I can do to resolve this?

Thanks much!
