Blu-ray playback in Media Center 8?

i keep seeing that blu ray playback is/was part of the media center pack, i have media center installed and yet no blu ray support. i can play dvd though...

Microsoft never said WMC would support Blu-ray playback. The only mention of Blu-ray was in the discussion about Microsoft's decision not to support DVD OOTB. Their reasoning is that OEMs generally package DVD or Blu-ray playback software with the system anyway.

Arcsoft or cyberlink are top.

You could do vlc player as well.

i have powerdvd ultra, i was using for w7 mce - was hoping something a little more stable. ill look into those

I just avoid the problem entirely and rip and convert.

Arcsoft Total Media Theatre 5 is much, much better than PowerDVD. I've tried both. I recommend TMT5.

I'd use TMT or VLC.
