Motz.. You're not too far from Redmond are you? Can you drive over there and smack 'em for me please? lolMotz wrote:Update for you guys...
10/17 12:25pm: Failed certification because they needed a "test" account for the app because no tv or movies were showing up...
10/17 12:35pm: Emailed back with a question as to how it passed certification to begin with as we never had a test account... and of course supplied them with our test servers... They take up to 2 days to respond to emails
And so the fun starts all over again.

I am by bus so it would probably take a while. My assumption is they use a third party for validation but I have no idea. We will see what they say tomorrow

Wow. It sounds like they really didn't do any testing on the app until there was a new version. Then, they suddenly started paying attention... maybe a little too much.
I totally understand the whole thing with a company who tests your stuff only until the first error. I hate that. I deal with it very frequently in my line of work. Companies find a single error, and stop. They send you the details of the error, and you fix it. Send another test sample... and they find the next error. It takes forever!
Now with software, I understand that they expect you to test your own software before you submit. In my case, it's DATA. They verify one problem with the data, and stop. I have no idea what they consider a "data error" in most cases. It's very frustrating.

Yeah the report from them said... we went to recorded tv and there was no recorded tv, we went to movies and there were no movies.... urmmmm cause you didn't record anything? I am just curious how they certified the original version as I have never supplied a test account to any of the market places.

Next they'll say they can't verify that the remote functions work. You'll have to go setup a HTPC in [insert test support country here] for them.

Not only that, but you cant use it normally either... Seeing how they have handled this thus far I wouldnt doubt them failing it for seeing activity that they did not initiate... (example: a show added or deleted that they did not add or delete themselves...)Motz wrote:Emailing wasn't enough so I had to re-submit... so now I just can't turn off my PC for 7 days...
