Working on it, hopefully a beta/alpha sometime this week.

How about Windows 8 RT / Surface? When can we expect a beta to test out the companion on an RT tablet?

Is the ETA still this week? I've been checking 2x a day! heh. Perhaps I need to cut back on my caffeine intake.

Will the RT/surface app work in windows 8 pro ? Obviously from the "don't call it metro" start screen?
Is that how the "apps" work? And in the end Microsoft hope to phase out the desktop "tile"...
I'm thinking low power pc always on in living room running ceton companion, tv and media server in loft(currently in cupboard under stairs!!) and echo in bedroom.
Oooh I do love a project...

I think I will just call it metro as it is all confusing. It is basically a Windows 8 app. So apps can specify to work with ARM, x64 or x86. And WinRT devices are ARM mostly, so you just need to compile against all 3 and you work on all devices. The only time you can't work on all 3 is if you are doing some crazy stuff outside of the framework and need access to the desktop.

I was out surfing the Windows Store on my phone and downloaded the companion app.

I missed the no Win8 support comment, any idea when Win8 will be supported?

Can we get an update on Windows 8 support for the Companion app as I greatly miss the functionality. Has it been delayed?

Thanks!

Thanks Mike for the update. BTW, any word on YAMM support for TV as this was promised months ago, however it seems like it's dead in the water.

Thanks again!

It won't be in the W8 build but soon to follow. A big focus is on Echo right now so some priorities are shifting. I was expected to get this done Sunday but life happens and my wife was in a bad accident so I've been struggling to get caught up again.

Mike, I'm so very sorry to hear about your wife. I will keep her in my prayers. I can only imagine how thin you're spread with such a full plate. Please know how appreciative we are for all of your hard work!

God bless you my friend...

Thank you, I appreciate it. She is doing a bit better, just in a lot of pain from the impact. Fractured rib, fractured clavicle, whiplash, etc. I'm actually working from the doctor office right now.

We'll post a status as soon as possible

Please use the Public Tracker, http://tracker.cetoncorp.com/, to report any issues.

Awesome, Michael!

The link isn't working for me, however.
