Well some good news to report for Nvidia Fans out there..
Nvidia has released WHQL driver 306.23.
Ran the usual 59/29 bug test on it with my Star Wars - Clone Wars File.. and no sight of any flicker on my GT 640.
If you had a 500 or 600 series card you have to apply a hotfix from Arcsoft to get the HD audio to bitstream on Blu-Ray disks.. the temporary patch file is still needed.. Info regarding the Arcsoft patch file is here :

So if you're in the mood to update this looks to be a solid release so far...

Update.. Although bitstreaming seems to work without the hotfix TMT5 will lock up on exit back to the WMC Main Menu. if your using a 500 series or 600 series card apply the hotfix from arcsoft until further notice.

This thread prompted me to upgrade both my systems from 280.26. I can confirm that it works well on legacy hardware too… My HTPC is an 8300 IGP based system, I did custom install and only loaded the driver, Nvidia updater, and the HD audio driver. I don’t bother loading 3D or PhysX stuff.
