Harmony Remote - Picture Size as Function in PC Activity?

#1

Post by stevethebrain » Sun Sep 02, 2012 1:46 pm

I'm starting to think aspect ratio of TV, picture size of TV are the same however w/ the issuse I recent have created they are infact differnt.http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... f=5&t=2500

zoom for WMC is differnt than TV aspect and TV size can someone explain this to me. also please explain Win-+ function key stroke my diffintion from Harmony is zoom in and zoom out is this for windows

I had a issuse w/ the size of the desktop it was so large I did'nt have a tool bar, so I pressed picture size on the orginalle TVs remote now the desktop is not filling the intire screen (maybe about 1" smaller on sides, top and bottom) as it did previous to the giant desktop.

Before I had this issuse I would usalley adjust the DT size by using the TVs device button of aspect.

Ideally I would prefer to never press any of these dam buttons and have everything set to 16X9 like in the CRT days is this even possiable?

Please explain how I can get a TV devices function (picture size) in my PC activity.

edit Harmony 700 remote w/ 7.7 software

Thanks STB

Steve, it sounds like you have your TV set to 1:1 pixel mapping, but you have Media Center set to "Flat Panel". Try this...

1) Go to the "Tasks" menu strip in Media Center and click the "Settings" icon.
2) Click TV -> Configure Your TV or Monitor
3) Click Next a few times to move through the screens.
4) When you get to the screen that has the title "identify your display type," choose "Television." Even though "Flat panel" seems like a more logical choice, you should choose Television.
5) On the next screen, choose your connection type (HDMI, component, etc)
6) On the "Display width" screen, choose "Widescreen (16:9)"
7) Finish the wizard

Now does Media Center fill the entire screen?

Try telling Media Center that it's a "flat panel" then. Any difference?

Initially I had this aspect problem when I acidently pressed the picture size button on the orginale remote of my work station PC which happens to be the same namebrand as my HTTV.

I'll try you'r advice & rest to "flat panel" and report back results.

Currently I'm reduced to using 2 activitys w/ my remote when going from TV-PC or PC-TV first activity is PC then watch TV either as device or activity to adjust picture size,

is it possiable to have TV activity functions programed to the PC activity?

Steve, when you talk about "activities", I'm assuming that you're referring to the activities that you can program on your remote control. I can't really help you with that, because I don't own a Harmony. My remote does very similar things to the Harmony remotes, so I would guess that you can program the remote to do whatever you want.
