Meta Data compatible with My Movies Collection Management?

#1

Post by JazJon » Wed Aug 29, 2012 10:29 am

Will the meta data for movies be compatible with My Movies? http://www.mymovies.dk/
If not, My Movies already provides options to add supplemental meta data support for half a dozen other media apps. (and they add new ones as needed)
I'm sure My Movies collection software team could add Ceton Companion app meta data info to the mix if we ask.
I just made a post here in an attempt to make them aware of Ceton. http://www.mymovies.dk/forum.aspx?g=posts&t=31342

I want to keep the My Movies database as the primary way I add/sort movies etc.

UPDATE:
response from My Movies Admin:

"Ceton are welcomed to use our API's."

So the Ceton Companion app is working with My Movies titles / data ?

And the movies are stored on my WHS server and not local on the HTPC(s).

Thanks
Stuart

This thread suggests it possible

http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... =63&t=2710

Can anyone confirm they have their My Movies - movie titles showing up correctly in the Ceton Companion app?

I read somewhere they are using TheTVDB for TV series metadata, My Movies also uses TheTVDB. Do your TV Series that are in My Movies Collection Management, show up correctly in the Ceton Companion app?

Cheers
Stuart

I have no movies populated in the app whatsoever. I use MM for metadata although I'm unclear who else is having the issue, MM or not.

OK thanks hopefully some more users can let us know?

Happy to buy the app but not if it doesnt work with My Movies titles and data.

I've been hanging out on the Micasaverde Vera forums lately so missed all this news about the Ceton app..

I don't think you'd be disappointed with the purchase.

So has anyone been able to get the companion app to see movies using My Movies meta data?

So i posted this in a different thread, but hopefully this will clear it up:

Hopefully I can clear it up.

1.) As of current movie meta data isn't actually working for local movies
2.) This will be fixed this week ideally (testing right now)
3.) The first release we will always pull our own movie metadata and artwork for the companion app.

-> Let me clarify this though
3.1) If you DO NOT want us to create WMC7 metadata or download artwork then simply uncheck these options in the config.
3.2) If you uncheck them we will still pull our own metadata for the app, but it will NOT mess up any existing metadata or folder art.

4.) In the future we will have 3 options...
4.1) Pull all metadata
4.2) Use existing metadata (will look for dvdid.xml info and use it)
4.3) Fill in missing metadata (basically combination of 1 and 2)

There are several reasons why we prefer our metadata and it has some advantages for media center performance (even over other similar tool) which will discuss in an upcoming blog post.

Hopefully clears it up, but if you have more questions let me know.

Are local Movies supposed to,work at all? It doesn't for me, but I've never seen a post or release note stating it is fixed.
