I can verify the OPs issue...and yes I use Bing. I only experienced it on the ".../blog" link.
It amuses me how many people here bad mouth Bing, Windows 8 and MS et al. Such a trendy bunch.

I believe it to be more of a Bing site cache issue.richard1980 wrote:Looks like this may be a PHP problem.

Oops! Bad mouthing Bing...sorry. I don't like the hits Bing returns on searches, so I choose not to use it. It's a poor engine IMO.

Not really. Everyone talks about things that are good and things that are bad in their own opinion on forums such as these.mcewinter wrote:Such a trendy bunch.
I certainly am not following a trend. If I think something is crap I will say so, whether I'm the only one saying it doesn't matter.

No, it's not Bing. I tried Yahoo and AOL and got the same result. I believe the PHP code I linked is being executed via the main /blog page.

You are right. I have just been checking myself with some other engines.
The code only has redirects if you hit it from various search engines aside from Google which is funny.
I'll ask Rob to take /blog down and we will see if it continues.
The positive thing is that the malware site no longer resolves so at present there is no risk of infection.

Here's a simple way to test: Make the PHP page output something on the very first line. Any attempt to redirect after browser output will fail and PHP will generate an error message.

Cheeky code though;
Only redirecting if you hit the site through a search from a set number of search engines.
A nice way to keep mostly off the radar and not infect regular members or regular guests, only fresh visitors searching for us. We (the regulars) would know nothing about it (as proven).
Thanks OP for bringing this up. I've learned something new today.

This may be unrelated, but did anyone besides me notice how many first-time posters started a new thread last week? I wonder if one of them caused this.

Consider my post a nod if you will. It only experienced at work and disregarded it.STC wrote:We would appreciate a nod in the future!mcewinter wrote:I can verify the OPs issue...and yes I use Bing. I only experienced it on the ".../blog" link.

Thanks again for all of the input folks, please keep it coming, the more specific the better.
Rest assured we'll be investigating this, as will our hosts.
We'll keep you up to date, please post back here if you spot any more unusual behaviour.

I didn't keep tabs on as the /blog link is useless.

Though I just posted this issue today, I am a longtime lurker of this community forum. I've noticed this /blog issue for at least 6-8 months.barnabas1969 wrote:This may be unrelated, but did anyone besides me notice how many first-time posters started a new thread last week? Perhaps as early as 2011. It was consistent. Like I said, it was non issue as that wasn't my true destination. I haven't tried the link in a long time, I automatically clicked "/forum" link (in Bing). I also told you that I disregarded because I noticed it at work. We have all sorts of silly filters in efforts to keep people off of certain sites.STC wrote:It was really just a test page to experiment with.
So was 2012 this month? last month? something more to go on?
I chimed in to let you know that it wasn't isolated to one or two people.
I'm sure you're picking on me because I made a statement about people bashing MS. I'm okay with that.
You guys are the topic police, so perhaps I was out of line.

^^ I'm certainly not picking on you. I'm asking you to help us in correcting this issue by giving us as much info as you can as you also reported it, that is all.
Just like HB, he asked anyone to come forward with info. You reported you saw the problem but you don't know which year(?) Not very helpful.
