CLONED/FAKE The Media Center Blog

#1

Post by cw-kid » Thu Aug 09, 2012 11:16 am

Hi all

Its come to my attention after I found it via a Bing search that someone has cloned my "The Media Center Blog" and stolen all my content and created a new blogger blog at: http://phonemediacenter.blogspot.co.uk/

My genunine URL is: http://windowsmediacenter.blogspot.co.uk/

I've reported this to Google to see if I can have the fake site taken down. If anyone spots any other blogs that just have my Media Center related material on them, please let me know so I can report those blogs as well. Not sure how or why they have cloned my blog? Probably to steal traffic and redirect?

Thanks

CW..
Stuart

Oh.. Well wasn't that nice of him/her to clone your blog... I guess you could look at it like they consider your blog quite informative...lol amazing the nerve of some people.. Hope you can get that taken down.

Quite, I don't mind people linking to my articles and posts and taking extracts, that's what the information is there for, if it's useful to someone. Lifting entire articles is dubious and stealing all my content and creating a new site is just asking for trouble! Not heard anything from Google yet but I submitted a formal report via their legal thing so hopefully it will get looked at.

Hey Stuart, that is pretty crappy doing on that person part. I actually enjoyed your site for some time. I am in the process of finalizing my site as I do similar to what you do with Phaze1 Digital. I would love to link to your posts to my site with your credits of course. Once digitechmedia.biz is finalized I plan to get blogging about my experiences and showing off installs more often myself. As a Ceton beta tester I'm holding back on launching until the Echo is released. Until then I'm focused on my local customers. But would love to link to your posts if that ls okay.

Billy sure shouldn't be a problem!

Looking forward to reading about some of your installs.

Google said

"Thanks for reaching out to us.

Please provide us with a representative list of infringing posts and their
corresponding original source posts. Once we receive these, we can
continue investigating your claims."

How many examples do they want? The whole blog has been lifted. Sent them a list of example articles.

The banner at the top of the fake blog goes to> http://www.paid-to-promote.net/ so someone is generating cash by stealing my content and traffic. I've also contacted Paid-To-Promote to see what they have to say? if anything.

Good Luck.. What a pain.. You'll have to start copyrighting all your posts. Sad that you have to go through all this.

So what happens when the person just creates another version?

Dunno least I know it's happening now, I often look back on some of my old posts to see how I set something up before. So will look out for dodgy sites with my content in the search results on bing and google.
Was surprised how quickly Google responded and took the site down!
