Although this is a story about WP7 Mango, there is also mention that if watching Live TV on the Xbox 360 Extender it will give you voice control to set new recordings:

Presumably if Microsoft were planning to kill off Media Center then they wouldn't bother with this level of integration. Maybe they've cottoned on to the fact that centralised and then distributed media is a good thing!
