Ceton InfiniTV firmware relapses

#1

Post by tombardo » Wed May 09, 2012 11:51 pm

I've been trying to update the firmware on my PCIExpress ceton infinitv. It currently is running version 1.0.2.8 (fairly old, the newest version is 1.1.7.2). Every time I go through the Ceton Diagnostic tool and tell it to update the firmware everything seems to work. It goes through the stages of downloading, verifying, deleting old firmware, and writing new firmware successfully. It then asks me to reboot the computer which I do. After reboot, however, when I check the Ceton diagnostic it still lists the old firmware version like nothing happened. What is even stranger, is that one of the times I went through this process the Ceton diagnostic showed the new firmware running, but after a reboot the old firmware was back. Anyone else have any problems like this or any suggestions? I thought I'd try here before opening a ticket with Ceton.

What does the browser interface report it as?
http://192.168.200.1/Services/System.html - If you're using defaults.

The browser interface also reports the old firmware version and lists the firmware install date as 9/14/2009 and the firmware file name as ceton_monaco_prod_v1.IMAGE

Try a manual update further down the page from the link above.
You can download 1.1.7.2 direct from Cetons website.

[edit] my bad, it's not easy to find, but here's a direct link: http://cetoncorp.com/firmware/ceton_inf ... _7_2.IMAGE

If that's a no-go then yes I'd certainly create a ticket. Ceton have excellent customer service, you should get sorted out.

That seemed to work. I'll open up a ticket with ceton if the firmware relapses again. Thanks.

Just to let others know my firmware relapsed again so I opened a ticket with ceton. They are going to replace the infinitv. Their customer support is crazy good.
