TiVo gets their guide data from Tribune, the parent company of Zap2it. It is unclear which of the two companies actually creates the data, but it does appear as if both companies use the same data.

Wrong link? Sorry, no I caught the line of text.
We must assume though that the daily listings are one and the same. There's only going to be one Primary 'head end' of this data for either Company I would wager.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. But I can't figure out which one of them it is.

I've been noticing some shows that in the guide that are supposed to be on, aren't. I thought it was just a scheduling problem, but when I looked at my cable providers lineup, it's correct. So it's playing what the cable company says should be playing, but the guide says something else is on. Kind of messes up scheduled recordings.
I checked and WMC was set to my zip code and provider. I noticed when I went to my providers web site it was showing one town over. So I set WMC to that town, and it still shows the wrong guide. Any ideas?

Welcome to the club. There are already a couple of other threads about this Edit: Looks like someone merged this in. Basically the problem boils down to the guide data provider (Zap2it) publishing listings with incorrect data, which they correct over time. Unfortunately, there is a 2-3 day delay between the time Zap2it changes something in the listings and the time that change shows up in WMC. So if they don't correct the listings fast enough, the change won't make it to WMC before air time. Additionally, there has been a problem recently with downloading guide data, which compounds the first problem.

Thanks for the info and the merge. Sorry I didn't see this other topic.

I have some relatively interesting news to report;
I noticed my cable co had changed one of my channels to a different broadcaster.
I duly notified Zp2it using their online form. By Monday 14th I saw the change had taken place on Zap2its' web listings.
It was today that I saw the update reflected in my MC7 guide listings. That's seven days for the update to reach my client.
During those seven days, updates to my guide were successful each day, so I can rule out the recent guide update issues.
