That's great news. It's nice to see Ceton opening up the companion app to people with non-Ceton tuners.
BTW, if Eric or anyone else from Ceton sees this, when I submitted the form, I got a blank gray page. Was there supposed to be some sort of confirmation message? If so, it's not working.
Nevermind...I'm still on my first lesson of web browsing for dummies.

strange confirmation page experience for me too, but it worked! Hope to get in on the echo beta - not sure what exactly they mean by paid beta though - would like some details on that...

It is outlined pretty good on the DMZ page:
http://thedigitalmediazone.com/2012/04/ ... app-betas/
As far as right now:
If selected for the beta of the Ceton Extender you will know the MSRP and if you still want to participate you will basically pay for it before we ship it to you. It will be FINAL hardware, but beta software at this point. Before final release the software will be automatically updated and you will get to keep the hardware. This is why we put in the "no commitement" thing.
This could always change though. We have more announcements soon.

Just to clarify something, if I don't have one of these new-fangled smart phones, can I still beta test the Echo?

Yep, when you register at the very bottom it asks which of the betas you would like to participate in. Registration does not guarantee selection though.

How about TV Shows that we have ripped? Personnaly, that's the main reason I use MediaBrowser/MyMovies. The native library is good for movies, not so for TV Shows.

This is great news. Especially the part about the companion apps working on any Media Center PC. I registered for the beta. Hopefully I haven't pissed them off so much that they wouldn't even consider me for the beta. I did apologize when I figured out that my problem is NOT due to the Ceton tuner. I hope they accepted my apology.
