I'm just going to say one thing: "if it aint broken, then don't fix it." No need to install new drivers unless you're actually having a problem!

And I'm on 266.58. It works fine. The only time I ever tried to update those drivers, I got no video.

That's especially true with firmware updates!

I let newfiend be the guinea pig. Let us know if it has the 29/59 flicker of the latest beta drivers as well as any blackscreen audio problems like the last whql drivers. Thanks for all your time and feedback newfiend.

No 29/59 bug or lack of video bug. So far it seems ok.. I'll post back tomorrow after I have a better go at it. This is the first WHQL in quite a few months.

start with the laptop off, turn on the laptop on hit the F8 key until you get the Advanced Start up Options screen it should have these options:
Repair Your Computer

Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Enable Boot Logging
Enable low-resolution video (640x480)
Last Known Good Configuration (advanced)
Directly Services Restore Mode
Debugging Mode
Disable automatic restart on system failure
Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

Start Windows Normally

Select Safe Mode
It should then boot into "safe Mode" with a limited amount of drivers.
Open Control Panel and Uninstall the Nvidia Graphics Drivers.
Once Complete exit Windows by Restarting. This Time do NOT hit the F8 key and let it boot as usual.
Hopefully Windows will install a "default" graphics driver at bootup for you and you should have your screen back.
For the GT240M GPU make sure you are downloading and installing this package here for the GT200M Series and Windows 7 x64: http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-w ... river.html
If this is what you installed that gave you a blank screen then I would visit the Laptop Mfg. web site and download the latest driver package they have listed for your model and install that.

If that updated driver isn't working for your laptop then I would suggest downloading the official driver from the laptop mfg. web site as it isn't working correctly for your hardware.
Good Luck,

I am using 285.62. No 29/59hz issues after setting digital color format to YCbCr444 in the nVidia control panel.

Latest WHQL seems solid. I have been using it for roughly 24 hrs. Watched TV all night w/o issue.

well there must be a bug in the driver for your specific model. I would report it to nvidia here: http://nvidia-submit.custhelp.com/app/answers/list
so it gets fixed in the next update/beta.
has reinstalling the original driver fixed the issue?
