New Channels and App in Taskbar

#1

Post by rknox » Wed Apr 05, 2023 6:09 pm

Hi,
A couple of unrelated questions about epg123:

- 6 ATSC 3.0 channels were recently added in the SF Bay Area as part of a KRON repack. These are not showing up in my OTA lineup (95032) in the epg123 server app. The changes went live on March 29. Should these show up given they are 3.0 versions of existing networks? If so, how long does it usually take? FYI, it seems that the guide data is showing for HDHR in their feed.
- I use epg123 as a standalone server app (no clients on the Server). I noticed that there is no taskbar icon in this configuration. Not a big deal but I would find it useful and consistent with my Server app setup.

Thanks,

There probably won't be an update to your lineup for ATSC 3.0 channels... at least not how you think. The HDHR artificially adds 100 to the channel number, so 4.1 for ATSC 1.0 would be 104.1 for ATSC 3.0. If that has changed, I'm not aware... I'm not going to be getting ATSC 3.0 in my market for a while yet. So the "new" channels won't be part of the lineup because it's not a real number.

What you can do though is manually map the guide listings from the appropriate ATSC 1.0 channels to the ATSC 3.0 channels. https://garyan2.github.io/map.html

The notification tray app is really only for the client and is not part of the "Server Only" configuration. There will be changes in the future concerning the server, but not yet.

Thanks Gary for the explanation. For the mapping, will that work for Emby with the .xmltv file I am using there? I am attempting to move on from WMC.

Yes, you can manually map guide listings from the xmltv file to the HDHR tuner channels in emby.
