Remote with QWERTY keyboard

Post by VinnySem » Mon Feb 06, 2012 9:56 pm

Hey gang,
Are there any "green button" remotes that have a qwerty keyboard on them? I'm looking at this:

Any experience with this? Better alternatives?

Thanks!

I am no expert, but I have been doing a lot research on HTPC parts and I've found this link particularly good for remote devices, although lengthy. Currently 14 pages, starts in Sept. 2010, still getting rare new posts. Some posts are quite detailed, many links:

I've been checking out some of the iOS apps, some of them are quite good, might be a good supplement to a standard WME remote. Namely, Remote Potato.

I resort to iOS when a MC remote isn't enough. Mobile Air Mouse ( http://www.mobilemouse.com/ ) for keyboard/mousepad, otherwise MyMovies has a nice app that includes a great remote if a touchscreen remote will suffice.

I own a similar Rii remote (mentioned in OPs link above) sans the d-pad and power button on the back and the range is horrible. I have a blue tooth and RF version and both have sub par range though the RF version is a little better.
