Tuners detected by epg123?

#1

While I was troubleshooting my "unable to update" problem, I chose to try to run the epg123 client setup from scratch. When it finished step 2 (I think) it told me that it had detected 9 tuners but WMC was only using 5. So, how can I find out what the extra tuners are, and better yet, how to use them?

In the PC I have a Hauppauge 2250 PCI dual tuner and a Hauppauge USB dual tuner. I also have a network tuner called AirTV that might be one of the tuners it sees, but I use Sling on Roku to access that. It may have 2 tuners as well. That would account for 6.

I also have DroidCam software installed. I suppose that could be another source. That could make the 5 for WMC and 7 for epg123.

Thanks for looking!

Sorry, forgot this question was out there. Not sure about 5 tuners, but certainly 4. When you ran TV Setup, it would have shown what tuners were being included. If the 5th tuner is the DroidCam, that's cool.

EPG123 just looks in the registry to try and determine how many tuners may have been available. The unaccounted for tuners could have been old tuners you no longer use, or maybe new tuner drivers for the same hardware could have doubled the count. Either way, it is a guess by epg123, and is why it is just a question to the user whether to proceed to the next step or run TV Setup again.
