If I delete a picture or home video in WMC pictures or video is it permanently deleted? If so can I disable that?
My kiddos and I were watching some home videos today. I noticed at the end of the video it treats it like recorded shows, has a delete option. My kids want to keep watching videos but I am concerned they will delete some accidentally. Thus the title question...
1. Does that delete feature delete my video off my computer of just the link to it in WMC?
2. If it does delete it from the computer can I disable that?

I have the answer to question 1. It tells you it will delete the video off the computer when you hit delete and asks you to confirm. Then when you hit delete it is gone forever.
Can this be disabled?

I am not aware of anything in WMC that will prevent you from deleting specific videos. The only way I know of doing this is to set the permissions of each file so that they cannot be deleted.
Here is one "Answer" I found as to how to change the permissions to disallow deletion, I have not tested it:

I ran into this issue a few years ago. I use RecordedTVHD and manually set up a "series" called Home Videos. The great thing about RecordedTVHD is that it has an option to "Protect series from deletion" in the series options.
Currently RecordedTVHD is unsupported but still (mostly) works...
