New install - MXF file truncates & therefore does not import

Hello:

I am a new user, and just installed v1.2.8.0 tonight, finally taking the plunge. I went through all the steps in the guide for the Clean Start procedure, etc. However, after completing everything & creating my Scheduled Task, I fired up my new guide, and there were no listings.

I opened up the Config tool again and looked at the trace log. I am seeing this error down towards the end of the "Save & Execute" procedure:

The thing is...the MXF file is there in that directory, but if I open it up in something like Notepad++ to look at it, it is truncated - there is no valid XML footer info. The file as listed is about 75MB in size, but it just ends with these lines:

I've gone through the "Save & Execute" process in the Configuration Tool twice, and both times it truncated the file. Am I hitting some sort of limit?

I'm using a Windows 7 Enterprise machine as my WMC machine, and there is plenty of free space on the C drive. I looked through the first few pages of the forum here, and didn't see anyone else have this issue. Am I doing something wrong here?

I upgraded epg123 from v1.2.7.0 to v 1.2.8.1. I ran epg123 and got the same error as the previous post. I reverted back to v1.2.7.0 and epg123 ran without errors.

Okay, I recommend reverting back to 1.2.7 while I try to duplicate this. This error is probably directly related to some of the code movement I had to do. Could someone tell me their lineup so I can find the issue?

Well, that didn't take long. I missed a 'null' check for movies, an lo-and-behold each of you had a movie that exposed the problem.

I'm scrubbing through my code again and will post an update soon.

I have tried to download the updated install file (zip) and Windows Security Essentials "cleans" it immediately. There is something there it doesn't like.

Just upgraded to v1.2.8.2 on my WMC, and the MXF file generated just fine. I'm now enjoying my first Rovi-free WMC guide in a looooong time!

I have 2 HTPCs. I upgraded the first one from v1.2.7.0 to v1.2.8.2 and ran epg123 without errors. I upgraded the second one from v1.2.7.0 to v1.2.8.2 and encountered the same error as described in previous posts. Both use the same lineup (USA-WA46544-X). There must be some more nulls in the guide data somewhere.


Also after the installation of v1.2.8.2 there are two icons on the desktop. One is labeled "EPG123" and the other "EPG123 Configuration".
