Windows 10 new version 1607 - will it lose my WMC?

After encountering all the difficulties described here, I was able to get v12 to reinstall by doing a normal install, and then copying the backup of the old ehome folder over the new one after the reboot. It may be as simple as copying ehshell.exe but I didn't try that. The 1607 upgrade thankfully makes a backup of the ehome folder. After copying the folder, run WMC which will indicate it discovered and fixed corruption and will run normally. You will have to repeat the DRM enablement before playing protected content. However here is where I'm still stuck, I have encrypted cable card tuners, and WMC will no longer recognize these. The tuners are installed and working normally, but can't be joined to WMC. Any ideas?

DRM does not function yet w/ W10 V1607. It is believed to be playready related.

Cable card tuners do not work with the new version of Win10. Either revert back to the previous version of Win10, or wait for someone to figure out how to get it to work, or find another solution besides the cable card tuner.mcline wrote:After encountering all the difficulties described here, I was able to get v12 to reinstall by doing a normal install, and then copying the backup of the old ehome folder over the new one after the reboot. I'm not using w10 v1607. I dodged that bullet. It works prior to redstone build refresh on my setup.

Hello!
I just got the Win10 version 1607 which removed my WMC. Trying to re-install the WMC I had did not work. When I tried the WMC v8.8.1 as described above did not work either, as my desktop is a 32-bit system. WMC v8.8.1 supports only 64-bit systems. Any help for this?
Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the answer. Where do I find the latest x86 v12? I have found a few places where those are refered to, but those seem to be from the times before Win10 v1607 came out. Does it really work?Crash2009 wrote:you gotta use the x86 v12.....cwinfield wrote:There is currently no working w10 v1607 WMC 32 bit version AFAIK.

I was using WMC_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v12.7z and it disappeared after the last windows update.
I tried to reinstall and its failing with a message about cbs.log
Has anyone gotten past this?

CableCARD Tuners don't work on 14393, without a little help. The only workaround I know of, is using DVBLink Server, WMC is able to recognize a Virtual Tuner in 14393doniuppa@gmail.com wrote:its 14393.321
What kind of tuner do you have?

The other idea is go back to 10586, disable updates, and wait for the fix for 14393.doniuppa@gmail.com wrote:its 14393.321
I forget exactly how long ago I disabled update service. Still holding out fine.

Bummer.
I just got done hooking up all my HDHomerun tuners and got WMC to work on my bedroom PC and my livingroom PC and then it quit in the bedroom after some update.
I just got another update and am now at 1607 14955 due to being on the insider program.
The livingroom pc is still working for the moment but buggy but that might be my network acting up.
I hope a fix is coming soon.
