Files needed to display video are not installed

Since last year I try to use wmc but whenever I play a video or music appears the phrase : Files needed to display video are not installed or are not working Correctly . Restart Media center or computer . I've tried several options already installed several audio and video codecs already uninstalled and installed sp1 , formatted several times , I have done almost all the tips for this error I found on the internet and nothing works , somebody help me to solve this error I will be grateful .

note: use the Xbox as WMC extender and both the Xbox and the computer aparce this error. , microsoft windows 7 professional

Hi - is this error only on the XBOX? I think you need a small package from the XBOX Marketplace to make all the files play nicely as an extender... look for "Optional Media Update" on the XBOX Marketplace

not the error occurs in the pc and xbox because the PC does the streaming
