Like a dummy, I saw a smoking deal on 32GB of RAM and thought, "Self, you can upgrade your RAM and use your old RAM to upgrade another system."
Worked great until I realized that Home Premium only recognizes 16GB.
I don't want to upgrade to 10 because I'd have to upgrade my Blu-ray authoring software. This is a non-HTPC, so Media Center is not a big deal, but it would cost me ~47 bucks to upgrade my Power Producer to a Windows 10 compatible version.
Microsoft is no longer selling the option via the OS, but still allow you to put in a key if you have one.
Inexpensive and legit way to go from Win7HP to Win7Pro?

Windows 7 64-bit, Home Premium. Home Premium is locked to a max of 16GB of RAM, you need Pro or Ultimate to get above that.

Has to be a retail copy based on my research. Which are going for over $200 bucks on Amazon.

Have another look at Ultimate, and compare to Pro. Its got some parts that Pro doesn't have. Ultimate has been very reliable for me.
Get a 100 gig SSD for the new OS.
Keep your old OS available so you can match the settings you need. After you get everything you need use the old drive for storage.
