WMC wont connect after closing it or xbox reboot

If im in WMC on my xbox and I close WMC to play a game or use netflix or something else or if the xbox freezes and i have to reboot it i cant get back into WMC without rebooting HTPC. I can usually get back in after like 30 mins without rebooting HTPC. I would think you should be able to get back to WMC if you decide to without this wait time or rebooting HTPC. Rebooting HTPC while its recording a show would lose the recording so i cant do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
