Infinitv4 Network Tuner Reset

#1

Post by Tester » Thu Mar 19, 2015 10:41 pm

Is there a way to reset only 1 of my 4 network tuners ? I recently upgraded one of my TV/PC Combos and cannot connect to 1 of the 4 network tuners because it has previously assigned.
I know I can start all over, but I would rather not loose my channels ( yes I know I can back these up but that has never worked correctly for me ).

Thanks

Bump to the front of the line.

Have you tried Guide Tool to backup your lineup?

Have a read through this one...... http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... 406#p86406 ...Even though we did what appears to be a complete reset, the card did not reset completely. Even if it doesn't apply to your case, the post has a good explanation of how the network part of the tuner works.

Thanks, interesting read for sure.

I do not remember exactly since Ive tried so many different programs over the years, but I do not think I have used Guide Tool.. I'll give it a shot.

Is one of your tuners assigned to a computer that no longer exists?

@Crash, yes exactly.. I am replacing that PC that no longer exists with another system.
So I need to clear just that one tuner so I can link it with replacement PC.
When Ive done this in the past I had to reset all the tuners and I am wondering if there is a way to avoid this an only reset the tuner in question.

Fairly certain that if you just uncheck that tuner from the wizard on the htpc it will allow you to reassign it without running setup on all computers.

@cwinfield, I played around with it a it and found no opportunity to just uncheck a particular tuner.. Its either rest all or reset none

I found a way around this without having to reset anything, I simply named the new system the same name as the old system.
This allowed me to select that last network tuner and set the channels.

Glad you found a solution. What I was trying to recall from memory was that if you run wizard setup again not reset to factory defaults, then you don't make any changes to your other computers tuner allocation, when you select which tuners you want paired you just select it for your HTPC. Since It would then no longer be available for the computer that had it associated but would not be associated with your HTPC until rerunning tuner setup and not mess with you channel lineup or whatever tuner source assignments your may have changed. Now that you have the changed computer running with the old computer name you should be able to unassociate by running the wizard on that computer then rename whatever you wished then go thru the wizard again.
