infiniTV ETH 6 losing high channels
I am a Cablevision user experiencing the following issue
I have the Infiniti 6 eth tuner. For no apparent reason I will lose my high number channels and the "subscription required " message pops up and my lower channels ie regular network channels 702-720 work but the higher channels 721 and up don't. Then I unplug power to the ceton power my PC down and restart everything all the channels come back. I don't use a sdv device because all the channels I watch usually come in without it. This happening every few days. My PC remains on all the time sleep/hibernation disabled. There was a cable card firmware update recently.

I purchased the HDMI detective and put it inline between the HTPC and the amp and believe that solved the handshake issuesCrash2009 wrote:Missing Channels?

I read some of your posts from way back. You have been having quite the adventure. You started out with 1 or 2 ATI tuners that were working perfectly. Then you went to the Infini4, then 2 of them, and now the ETH6. You started out with a TA, then somewhere along the line you tossed that. Now you have no TA. You bought a new PC.
Could you update us on your adventure, so we could help you better?

Lol. Yea I have gone through some changes ...i had been using a velocity mico PC since 2008 and upgraded my tuners to a ceton internal and everything was working pretty well but I got the bug to build a new PC and upgrade my tuner to an eth 6 and that's when the running smooth part changed. Heres my buildCrash2009 wrote:I read some of your posts from way back. You have been having quite the adventure. You started out with 1 or 2 ATI tuners that were working perfectly. There you have my whole system so right now I having this sporadic dropping of the upper channels and the "subscription required" message and I'm wondering if this new beta firmware release might solve the problem?

There's a couple details that come into play when you move up to the ETH6.
1- is the NIC in the HTPC, it should be GIG and have the best drivers (usually from the manufacturer)
2- Both the HTPC and ETH6 should be plugged into the same switch, which should be GIG as well.
Reason being, if you are recording from 6 tuners in HD, from the ETH to the HTPC, each stream is about 13.3 for a total of 79.8, and if you are streaming to 3 extenders from the HTPC, in HD, that's another 3 X 13.3 for 39.9, 79.8 + 39.9 = 119.7, 19.7 more than a 10/100 connection can handle. Many of the guys here have upgraded their switches to business grade GIG with excellent results.

There are many more if you search "subscription required eth6"

Just looked up your motherboard, Realtek GbE LAN chip. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc ... id=4970#sp
Here are the drivers for the NIC http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dow ... Down=false
You might want to check your coax signal strength with this http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... 629#p82629
