Default Streaming Network Settings

#1

I changed from the InfiniTV4 to the ETH6 some time ago and I noticed the default IP and port address seem to be the old InfiniTV4's IP and port number. (xxx.xxx.xxx.200 port 800x) x = 0-5, increment one for each tuner.

When I changed I did use the reset network and search functions in the app. before installing ETH.

I thought I could set this to the HTPC's IP and port (500x for ETH) since it is the principle user; but it only seems to work for the first 2 tuners. For 3-6 it reverts back to the .200 and port 800x.

Am I looking at this wrong or is there some carry over from the old pcie card that needs correcting?

Thanks

I'm not certain what you are trying to do. The InfiniTV (192.168.200.1 by default) needs to have a different address than the PC (192.168.200.2 by default) or it will not work. The ports increment per-tuner, but the whole tuner only has a single IP address.

Yes I know my ETH is xxx.xxx.xxx.230 and and my HTPC is xxx.xxx.xxx.135. My point is that in the ETH web page it lists under tuner a streaming setting which has a default setting of xxx.xxx.xxx.200 ports start at 8000. This setting is what I would have had when I had the InfiniTV4 PCIe board in my HTPC.
I have removed the InfiniTV4 from my system and only have the ETH now.

Should not the default now be the HTPC IP using 5000-%005 ports? This is the primary user now. But changing this setting and saving reverts back upon save.

My concern is it seems like a leftover from the InfiniTV4 PCIe which is no longer installed.

It just seems to me that starting with the HTPC IP and ports numbers would be more efficient then using the other .200, port 8000 point.

If I am looking at this wrong please explain.

Thanks

Those settings only apply to RTP. There is no need to ever touch them for normal operation as they do not apply.
