Still no Comcast OnDemand Support

Hi,

I have been using the Win7 MediaCenter-Ceton tuner combo for a long time.
Just wondering if anything changed on the OnDemand support? Or else, is there a Xfinity plugin?

CableCard technology is a one-way street; meaning no VOD.

If you are using a CableCard, you can pre-order Pay-Per-View events by phone.

As a side option for some cable networks there is for instance an Xfinity app for Xbox that allows you to get some streaming content. So if you have an Xbox 360 you can access some content that way.

Yes, I saw the Xfinity app for the Xbox. Just hate to pay MS a subscription fee to get the app. Also, it will not be integrated into the MediaCenter.
To bad Microsoft doesn't support a native MC app.

I am interested in non-pay OnDemand. I have at least one channel that comes with free OnDemand content.

I thought Comcast had an Xfinity PC application to allow streaming content. Is that not true? If they have one, can't you just get the software and then add it to the WMC start screen? While it's not as good as being integrated with WMC, at least you could launch the application without having to break out a mouse and/or keyboard.

The Comcast CableCARD page referenced above states that "Additional CableCARD devices, including Ceton and CableCARD TVs, may also receive XFINITY On Demand and other features - please refer to the documentation provided with your CableCARD-ready device for additional information."

Web browser On Demand works but quality sucks, no ppv, and title availability differs from On Demand App on xbox, which also differs from On Demand titles available through a comcast box/Tivo.

I downloaded the xfinity app for the xbox. I guess I see two issues:
1.) How can I jump between MediaCenter and Xfinity app using a remote (not a game controller)?
2.) the video quality seems to be really bad. My network connection otherwise is really good. Even the black/grey background in the xfinity app is really strange.
