Program Split Due to Schedule Change?
I was wondering if anyone else has seen this and can provide a better explanation as to why it happened.
Last night, I recorded Survivor which ran from 8:00 to 9:30. The recording stopped at 8:53 and then restarted itself and then finished normally. Here are the two events that were logged:
8:53:01 PM - Recording of Survivor: Suck It Up and Survive began as scheduled on 9/24/2014 7:58:01 PM and stopped early on 9/24/2014 8:53:00 PM due to a schedule change
9:41:01 PM - Recording of Survivor: Suck It Up and Survive began late on 9/24/2014 8:53:03 PM due to a temporary failure caused by either a system malfunction or a power loss and stopped on 9/24/2014 9:41:01 PM.
According to the event logs, no guide updates occurred anywhere near the time of these two events and no, there was no power loss. I was watching another previously recorded show when this happened and there were no "visible" glitches in the system at the time.
I appreciate that the recording restarted itself and that I lost only about a minute of the show but why this happened is not clear to me.

I recorded the same show last night, so I checked the history on it.
I don't see the same issue though.
I'm not sure what it could be, if the tuner had lost the signal, it would have given you an error that said so.

Rent manager?
I looked at the other various event logs and saw nothing near the time this occurred.

The same thing happened to me recording the Survivor premiere episode last week. It actually stopped and restarted recording a few times (around the end of the immunity challenge) and it said the same thing...that it was due to a schedule change.Mountainbreeze wrote:Guess it was something with my system but darned if I know what.

Maybe something did change with your cable company's listing in the guide?
Are you both with the same company?

I am strictly OTA. Also, for me, there was no guide update when it happened so I don't see how a "schedule change" could have caused this. (Not to mention that the schedule did not change!)

I have a HTPC running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and on certain TV recordings I keep getting the following error "Show XXX has stopped recording due to a schedule change". Then WMC starts recording the show again a minute later. This results in the recording of a show being split into 2 or more parts. This doesn't happen on every show but only certain ones. Any idea as to what's wrong and how to fix it? My HTPC has a Intel 2500k CPU at 3.2 ghz, Intel DB68DZ motherboard and 8 GB of memory. I'm using Intel's built-in graphics. I have a Ceton Infinitv 4 PCIe internal CableCard tuner and SiliconDust HDHomerun Prime CableCard with 3 tuners for a total of 7 CableCard tuners..

The same thing happened to me a while back. It only happened once in a single show and it hasn't happened again since. No explanation was offered when I posted here and I never did figure out why it happened.

Last week had "Selfie" split into over 30 parts... the next week it was only 4. Most of the 30 was in the first 4 minutes much before the show even began.
