Netflix suddenly a bit wonky
When it works, it works--but getting it to work, every time, suddenly requires that I first exit and restart WMC.
If I don't do that, I get a Silverlight error.
Of course, I have the latest Silverlight. And there's no problem in a browser.
I don't have to restart the computer, just WMC. And I never turn off, let sleep, or restart the computer (other than its occasional random reboots, thanks, Windows). I can't imagine what's happening under the hood between my Netflix viewing sessions.
This just started happening a couple of weeks ago. Thoughts?

Why don't they just leave us alone. What a coincidence (that's right when the guide blew up)

so do i. In my case critical still gets through. Possibly through MCE or guide, or some other back door.adam1991 wrote:Yeah, but I have updates AND the update manager both turned off...

Check that post of yours from a couple months ago. The one where an update got ya, and then you did a restore. We went on and on trying to find a stop button. I'll see if I can find it too.adam1991 wrote:huh. Will check this tonight...
The bottom line was, if you use MSE, that's leaving the door open to critical and they can nail you anytime they want.

^ I do not use antivirus or antimalware products on my HTPC.
What does update automatically is the in-built Windows Defender, but they are not listed as critical updates.

I was sort of mistaken. If you disable the update service MSE won't work. Found the post..... http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... 777#p69777 and it was more than a couple months ago.

yeah, no updates of any kind here, critical or otherwise. Just automatic restore points for the sake of creating restore points.
I checked that and immediately went to Netflix, and it worked. Not sure what's going on here.
