barnabas1969 Where For Art Thy Gone?
Does anybody know him on a real level or know why he has disappeared as of like August 14 (last login). I sure hope he is well and enjoying life. If he was taking a break I surely though the Windows 10 speculation would bring him back into a thread or two! He has been such a big voice on TGB and I just hope everything is okay!

I'm afraid that he is indeed banned.
It wasn't an easy decision because he was one of our most knowledgeable members and gave great advise on a wide range of subjects.
He had however been given multiple warnings regarding his conduct /language, as well a temp ban in the past but in the end enough was enough.
Nobody took any pleasure in banning him and tgb.tv won't be the same without him, but we have set out our code of conduct and terms of registration and they apply to everybody.
The whole tgb team keep the site running as best we can in our own time, and having ground rules helps us to keep moderating posts, never mind taking drastic action such as banning etc to a minimum.
We're proud to be among the top results for Media Center web searches (thanks to all of you folks who log in here and create this great resource) and want to keep our site suitable for all ages who may visit us as a result.
I'm babbling on as usual so I'll shut up now...

huh. I don't remember seeing anything of his that fell anywhere near the "yeah, that's gonna leave a mark" territory.
Guess I didn't hang out in the right (wrong) places.

As I recall that's because there were several posts that had to be removed/severely edited by the mods. I recall him blaming jack for many of them.
I too am sad to see that he was banned, although I think he was over zealous at times his arguments were mostly factually supportive and Definately valuable to the community.

Well that explains why he didn't answer my PM. I've often thought TGB of today is over modded. I appreciate the time that the mods give to this forum but moving and splitting topics and removing posts isn't as urgent as some might believe. baranabas1969 brought a lot of knowledge to this forum, banning him is a shame.

One would have to imagine he is lurking here under another name. Must be uncomfortable for him not to be able to unleash his normal self as it would be a give away, but I miss you too! Hope you come back one day.

Yeah, a lot of people agree the mods are overzealous about merging/splitting topics. Myself included.mcewinter wrote:I appreciate the time that the mods give to this forum but moving and splitting topics and removing posts isn't as urgent as some might believe.

We take all feedback seriously.
A lot of merging and splitting is to do with search results etc.
We'll certainly take the comments on board
(note to mods: please don't split this )

Is he banned for life?
I doubt he'd want to come back but a thread in his name might be inviting seeing that the "community" appreciates him.

I think he is. After his initial banning, he made an obvious dupe account and took things too far in retaliation, from what I heard.mcewinter wrote:Is he banned for life?

That's too bad. He seemed knowledgeable about WMC.
I have a feeling his comments about the Echo may have had something to do with it.

I'm guessing the mods quickly deleted everything involved, that's why. I never saw any of it either - only word of mouth.adam1991 wrote:I swear, I must hang out in the wrong places. Same here, although I haven't been as active here as I once was. Perhaps that is why.adam1991 wrote:I swear, I must hang out in the wrong places. I never saw any of this.Ed wrote:I think he is. can we--that is, the user base--invite him back? Can we talk the mods into giving another chance?
