infiniTV PCIe & nVidia motherboard chipset compatibility

I received this email from Ceton, might be why having so many problems. If you have a Nvidia video card, here is Ceton requirements: note the last line. Maybe why can't find TV signal.

Minimum system requirements:
•PC with Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8 Pro (64-bit) with Media Center
◦2.0 GHz or faster dual-core or quad-core 64-bit (x64) processor
◦3 GB of RAM (4 GB recommended)
◦350 GB of available hard disk drive space recommended for 50 hours of HDTV recordings
◦1 available PCI Express (PCIe) slot, which can be either an x1, x4, x8, or x16 type slot
◦HDCP-compliant graphics card or on-board graphics
◦HDMI output, or DVI output with separate 5.1 audio output required for Dolby 5.1 surround sound
◦Note: InfiniTV does not support NVIDIA nForce motherboards or chipsets

This adapter has been discontinued, which REALLY sucks. Want you to buy either another vid card or M/B if you have onboard video. PCIe InfiniTV 4 has been replaced by InfiniTV 6. I'll NEVER buy another Ceton product. This one has worked fine for 4 years, so they decided to try and force you to upgrade.

27 people have read this and did not comment. I'm curious, what are you saying?

Are you saying that you had a 4 running in an nForce box for 4 years, and now it blew up and you have to get a 6? Or, did you take the 4 out of another box and try it in a new nForce build? Or, something else?

Just because somebody says: We do not support something, doesn't mean it will never work. If you want some suggestions, post your hardware, there is always the possibility that someone here, has overcome the problem.

I am unclear what you are stating. We fully support the InfiniTV with nVidia graphics cards (assuming they meet our minimum system requirements)

If you are referring to the nVidia nForce chipset, nForce chipsets have issues with PCIe communication with the InfiniTV, and you are unlikely to have reliable operation using an InfiniTV with them, if it works at all. As the system requirements page indicates, this is not supported.

This the mud may clearer make.-

If you have a motherboard that has an nForce chipset, you may be in deep water.

They have not made a nforce chipset since 2009. It may be time to move on to newer components or get a ethernet version.

It is also worth pointing out that very few configurations using nforce-based motherboards (simply due to age) meet our minimum system requirements, aside from the nforce aspect of it.
