Dolby Digital Plus

#1

Post by bob_p » Sun Sep 21, 2014 12:57 pm

I'm running WMC in Windows 8.1.

Live/recorded TV programs are showing Dolby Digital Plus audio - but my receiver indicates it is only getting Dolby Digital (not Plus).

I'm running with the Shark007 codec and using both SiliconDust and Ceton CableCard tuners.

Does anyone have a configuration the is sending DD+ through to their AVR from CableCard tuners?

Unless I am mistaken, cable content is not broadcast in DD+.

DD-5.1 and Pro Logic-2.0 only.

Sorry disregard. May be misinformation.

Okay I thought broadcast cable TV was limited to DD. It may still be the case. Someone else needs to clarify.

Have verified that the HDMI/Windows settings are set to Stereo and the Windows/HDMI driver believes the card supports DD +. Still only getting DD.

Is this the new Nvidia driver? Lot's of people reporting this but 29/59 is better.

If you read the third comment. somebody uninstalled, rolled back to previous driver, reinstalled new driver, then setup audio.
