Hi,
does anyone know if and how well the new xbox 360 media remote works with Windows Media Center ?
Is the D-pad made of 4 buttons (up down left right) or is it like a touch pad so that it can be used to control efficiently a mouse pointer on a PC ?
Thanks for your help
Regards
Xbox 360 Media Remote (new version black)

D pad is just four buttons. It's not a bad little remote. I wouldn't make it my primary, but it does most of what you'd need. No green button, which alot of people dislike. I forget if it had buttons to program for the TV.

If you want that kind of remote, get the older model. If you want a mouse pad on a remote, try Ortek/Adesso, but it has some quirks too. I use a universal plus a K400 or keyboard/mouse app on my phone. Works much better than a pad or arrow buttons.

I assume from your answers that both models (the old white and the new black) work with windows media center.
Thanks very much for your help I will evaluate which one to buy depending on price, availability, buttons, dimensions.
I need it to replace my 10-years old original Microsoft remote that is not sold anymore.
@bmblank
I don't use the green button because I press the live tv button to watch live tv directly

yes I know the adesso (sold as Hama in Italy) with the mouse pad, it's on my shopping list

Actually, you usually have to make some registry changes for it to work, assuming your IR dongle is compatible. Personally, I'd go a different route.alberiv80 wrote:I assume from your answers that both models (the old white and the new black) work with windows media center.

I misunderstood. I used the remotes on my Xbox.
