InfiniTV 6 PCIe issues

#1

Post by Gravis Lord » Fri Apr 18, 2014 11:20 pm

So, I can get the diagnostic app working fine, media center sees the tuners yet always says "No TV Signal". I am attaching a screenshot for that.

Beyond that, the Tuning Adapter (on my second one) still does not seem to work according to the web interface. Here are the vitals:

TR Status: Waiting for Channel Map
Downstream Status: Downstream RF not locked
Upstream Status: Upstream not connecting
Authentication Status: Authenticated
Tuning Resolver Operational Status: TR Initializing
Remaining Upgrade Time: 0 Minutes
Number Of Tuners: 4
Active Tuners: 1,2,3,4
Number of Channels: 0
Channel Maps Received: 0

The light still blinks GREEN as well, never have gotten it to stop. I also just tried using a signal booster and that hasn't helped. I am on Time Warner Cable, using Windows 7 Ultimate. I also disabled AVG (along with its Firewall Protection) as well.

Thoughts / advice / pity? ;)

Thanx..

PS. Also added the listing from Windows Firewall regarding ports, etc...

Do you have any Antivirus Software or Firewall software installed other than Microsoft Security Essentials?

I have AVG but disabled it in the meantime until I can figure out how to manage its' firewall thing :). I have managed to get some signals from random channels, but mostly are really badly having signal issues. I bought a signal booster but that hasn't had much of an affect on things. Thankfully the TWC technician will be here in the morning and hopefully the issues can be resolved both signal-wise and the tuning adapter.

Disabling your AV software isn't enough. Try uninstalling it and see if the problem goes away.

I did a compete uninstall of AVG and still the same result. Tuning adapter still not working (flashing green light) and most channels still giving error (No TV Signal detected). In theory the TWC guy should be here this week since they screwed me over and cancelled the appt I had for yesterday morning without even notifying me...

Sounds like it may be a bad port on the tap out on the street. That happened to me. Opted for the self install to save the $30 and nothing worked. Internet or TV. They sent out a tech and he moved me to a different port on the tap. Now I have so much signal I have to knock it down with attention.

I noticed your tuning adapter only supports four tuners. Make sure they push any firmware updates to get that up to 6. In my TWC market they are Motorola based and both tuning adapters they issued me had v1.35. V1.37 adds support for 6 tuners.

Here is the update on my end. It took 4 different cable cards, 5 tuning adapters, 4+ hours over 2 visits, signal improving, but everything is finally working lol. The tuning adapter issues were simply that the tuning adapters were stuck on old firmwares and finally one was able to update itself. Cablecard issues were weird and sporatic but finally one was able to retain the proper subscriptions, etc... Happy day and thank you all for the help.
