I have an old Intel DG965WH motherboard with a MSI ATI Radeon HD4550 and for years used analog audio but my receiver died and so I am going to be purchasing a new one and want to use HDMI for video and audio from the pc to the receiver and TV.
I have not purchased the receiver yet but tried an HDMI cable to the TV and audio does not seem an option. I checked on updating the ATI drivers and Googled this subject and read of others with this problem but I still cannot get the audio working via HDMI.
What is the trick to getting audio working through an ATI HDMI. Is the problem the card and if so please give me a card that would work.
