Need help chosing motherboard for new HTPC
hi, i am needing to build another new htpc, my fifth since xp!
i want a new motherboard that need to suit a DViCO Fusion Dual Express 2 HDTV pci-e Tuner and a PCI-E and compro e700 pci-e digital tuners.
have onboard video with at least two hdmi outs
onboard digital sound
onboard wi-fi
atx size
amd prefered
i also want power saving, quiet and will have a ssd drive and want to be only used as a media centre.
also anyone know of a stand alone remote with a keyboard that i can use on this?
any ideas of any other parts i could use to upgrade my pc?

To give a good recommendation I'd really need to know what CPU you have in mind to choose based on socket type. It's a tough set of features to come up with since you need so many pci-e and a lot of the wi-fi boards are small form factor.
Are you thinking FM2+ or AM3+? Are you totally opposed to Intel?
Are your tuners PCI-E x1?

In my recent experience NOT a gigabyte one. Had some terrible hdmi issues, it's going back...
All the MSI one's I've had have been great.

I feel the exact opposite about both brands over the last 15 years of buying them.milli260876 wrote:In my recent experience NOT a gigabyte one. Had some terrible hdmi issues, it's going back...

Have to completely agree with Lucky. Though my first choice is always Asus, gigabyte is a close second. I tend to stay away from MSI unless I am going for a cheap budget build.LuckyDay wrote:I feel the exact opposite about both brands over the last 15 years of buying them.

No problems here with MSI or Gigabyte. ASUS has been good, except for one that has a BIOS with a built-in digital cable component that caused me some problems. Overall, I'd trust ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI... in that order.

Never had a gigabyte one before always asrock or msi... Had issues in the distant past with Asus but that was 98-xp era! Ram compatibility.

I've only been using AsRock in the last year or so, but have been very happy with their boards. My new HTPC is using one of their boards, first one I've owned. It was the cheapest that had everything I wanted, which was a big factor, but it's been working great.milli260876 wrote:always asrock
