No option to configure a TV or Monitor

I am trying to set up an HTPC. In WMC I go to settings, general, WMC setup and there is no option to configure a TV or Monitor. I seems to be missing. I see TV signal setup and audio setup only.

I am using a acer flat panel with HDMI connection for now. I will eventually be using a projector, but for now I can't even get to the point where it asks if I have a flat panel. I go to settings, then general, then to windows media center setup. At this point I should see configure tv or monitor but that choice is not there it's missing. I only see-- set up internet connection, set up tv signal, set up your speakers, run setup again and install PlayReady. Configure TV or Monitor is not there.

I have turned WMC off and rebooted then on again. Still the configure tv or monitor choice is missing.

I am running Windows 7 Pro with an i7 Haswell GPU.

Any detectives out there that can figure this out. Thanks in advance.

Are you trying to do this via a remote-desktop session? If so, you can't do that. Not all options are available from a remote desktop session.

It's not a remote-desktop session. It's only on one computer, the one I am using.

I think this may be one of the things that doesn't become available until after you go through live TV setup.

I never went through any Tv, live Tv, or Tuner setup on my Win7 laptop yet the "configure your tv or monitor" option can be found in two places-
Settings > General > WMC Setup
and
Settings > Tv

This is what I see. Only 4 options. No option to configure tv or monitor.

When you opened MC for the first time did you do express setup or custom? Maybe that makes a difference in what you see.
