is there any way to make this thing play music that i have on a nas. it plays in media center fine just want remote control for when im in the yard without having to buy a sonos.

Could you please clarify the question. My Media Center cannot directly play music on your phone, but it can control music playback on the Media Center PC

Since when? Music support was one of the features supposedly a long time ago, but never added.
The only "control" over music that you have is start/stop/play/pause/skip...
