Netflix quality has been significantly better than cable since long before "Super HD", possibly since the introduction of Netflix streaming.
So if yours isn't matching "good cable HD", it probably is only getting the SD netflix bitrates.

I think that all depends on your cable company. Mine doesn't re-compress anything. The local TV stations on cable look every bit as good as they do when received with an antenna.
