XBox analog audio volume control with remote?

#1

Post by cncb » Wed Sep 18, 2013 1:20 pm

I am thinking about getting an XBox 360e for a location that currently has a monitor with HDMI input for video and a cheap external analog amp with manual volume control. I assume the 360 will work with HDMI video output and analog audio output? Is the analog audio output fixed or can it be controlled with the XBox or WMC remote volume controls? Thanks.

Volume is fixed.

I am not sure you will be able to separate the video to go HDMI and audio to go to analog. It is my impresison that it is either one or the other, not both at the same time. But, I could be wrong. Never tested it that way.

That's unfortunate but I'm glad I asked. Thanks.

I've seen an adapter for Xbox that has RCA and optical audio outputs. Not sure if they are active at the same time as HDMI audio, but I don't see why not. Still doesn't solve your level problem though.
