@Motz, as I recall, unified search was supposed to be one of the original features.

Unified/Aggregated search across your content and 3rd party apps was the concept we showed with the Q and Q companion at 2011 CES. Once the Q was canceled and we changed the companion apps to be a wider media center specific and features were adjust and added based off that. The search that is in the apps right now and was designed is a full unified search of Guide, Recorded TV, Scheduled, Series, and channels. So searching once will search all of your content.

Yeah and barnabas, if you're talking about including Netflix search - Netflix no longer gives out API tokens/dev keys; so that's an impossibility. Only devs who have keys/access from before they cut off the dev program have access to search Netflix via API/ability to make Netflix apps/integrate Netflix into their app.

Motz wrote:Additonally @twiceinert I actually really like this request when it comes to recorded tv/scheduled recordings. Currently it only searches titles and returns the list of results. I will add this near the top of my list though.
Holy crap, my post got taken over by a Moderator .gif war!
Even if you only implement for recorded TV, I will be a very happy camper. Glad you put it "near the top."
Thanks Motz!

Awesome, you did Movies as well. Except I'm rockin WP8... Forgot to mention that earlier. I know the approval process is different, but what are the chances the change makes it into the next update for Windows Phone? When is the next update expected?
