So I've been poking around the registry trying to understand why Windows 8.1 plays higher bitrate files on Extenders in MCX (way better than 7) and I've notice the Transcode key is gone under Windows Media Player NSS > 3.0.
This has me entirely confused! Anyone have any ideas how they changed this process under the hood?
