Local media playback device for TV?

#1

Anyone have a strong opinion on the best way to play back my blu-rays ripped w/o compression, and stored on my media server (win 7)? My living room setup is (1)Echo for TV content, (2)Roku for streaming, and now it's looking like I need a 3rd box strictly for local content. No doubt most boxes could handle most of my dvd's stored locally, but I want something that can handle the high bitrate stuff as well. And ideally it'd have a nice interface but more important to me would be stable and small form factor. I'm of course looking at the wdtv live but does anyone have thoughts on other viable options?

Like you mention, WD TV Live seems to be the go-to for 1:1 BR rips.
