FYI!
Windows 8.1 Breaks 3rd Party Apps launched via custom strips

Problem:

MyMovies doesn't want to launch on 8.1

Error: The My Movies Star Menu Strip 2 program has stopped responding and you will be returned to Windows Media Center

MyMovies Dev's response: (bad new! unless RTM changes things)

"Having spend some hours over the weekend on Windows 8.1, this is unfortunately not something that can be worked around in the application. It is very clearly a problem introduced by the Windows team - we can change the launched page to even the most simple with only a text page, and despite, this problem occurs on random. MediaBrowser appears to be affected by it as well. This is something we at least for now can't do anything about - at this point, we will wait for an RTM before we do another attempt. Clearly, we do not agree that we should not support Windows 8.1, however, if Microsoft breaks Windows Media Center's abilities to run add-on programs, there is very little we can do."
