No action from my HP WMC remote

I just reinstalled windows 7 64 bit. I had windowz update do all the updates. Windows updates as sell as the optional ones. ehome dfiver video card etc . All is well in device manager. It recognizes the hp usb ir receiver but when I press the windows button on the remote nothing. Press power nothing. The led is blinking on the remote and the receiver. What do I do now.

Whether the Power button works will depend on Power settings and possibly BIOS settings.

If you fire up Windows Media Center, can you navigate the menus using the Remote?

No iI couldnt navigate the menu using the remote. I just reinstalled 7 64 bit again. Not because of yhe remote issue tho. Im gonna try to use the remote b4 I run windows updates. Which doesnt make sense but neither does windows sometime. Ill b back

Check the HP website for a driver/software for the remote.
Might be needed.

it even shows up in control panel as working and connected, seems perfectly fine, it always worked with 7 before, but i had 32 bit last time, but i know it works with 64 bit ofcourse.

it was the batteries!!!!!!!!!, i knew the ones i put in there were weak but i was like naw, the led on the remote was blinking, anyway, im going to attempt to install lm remote again to work with my colossus, any advice would b appreciated, thanx
