Reduce delay of time line display auto remove (registry)
I hope the wording in the subject makes enough sense.
When I hit pause, a time line is displayed at the bottom of the screen. It disappears automatically after ~3 seconds. I would like that to be sooner and assume their is a registry value I can change. Does anyone know what it is?
And as a meta question; is there a description of all (some? many?) of the Windows Media center registry values that affect the user interface?

These registry keys were for XP and Vista versions of Media Centre, I'm not sure if they're still valid with 7/8MC. One of them is for the panel timeout you're after.

[ Sorry for the delay. I thought I submitted this two days ago ô¿Ô¬ ]
Thanks for that list. It would be nice if all of the values that appear in the registry were documented somewhere (there are many more than those mentioned on that page).
I am assuming that panel might be called the SeekBar (?) .... so I want SeekBarTimeout? If so, the closest value I see in WMC for Windows 7 is SeekBarBriefTimeout. I have changed that to 1000 (msec), but it has no affect that I can see.

Oh, that's a shame.
I've looked and found a Win7 version of TweakMC that you could try:

Or you could try searching this site that has lots of 7MC tweaking:

I remember playing with this a long time ago, I don't think I ever got there...... I look forward to hearing any findings

You could try changing the value for UITimeout under VideoConstants on Windows 7/8.

Thank you. That's it. And, so far, the "seekbar?" is the the only thing I've seen that's affected.Win7Demon wrote:You could try changing the value for UITimeout under VideoConstants on Windows 7/8.
