How to get pairing information?

#1

Since the pairing information is no longer being displayed from the Ceton Device tab for some reason where can we get it when we need to call the cable company (bright house in my case)?

I use to be there up until about 2-3 weeks ago when we removed an amp.

One of my Ceton cards wasn't displaying cablecard info, but also wasn't functioning properly at the time;
I removed and reseated the cablecard and the problems were no more.

You can get the pairing information for a Cisco card by going to the web gui (192.168.200.1 for the PCIe version, 192.168.180.1 for the usb version) and clicking on cableCARD tab. Then when that opens there will be some links to the internal cableCARD server. For the Cisco Card these are:
Cisco CableCARD CA Screen
Cisco CableCARD/Host ID Screen
Cisco CableCARD IP Service
Cisco CableCARD DAVIC Info
Cisco CableCARD CP Info
Cisco CableCARD Diag Screen
Cisco CableCARD ASD Info
Cisco CableCARD DSG Info
Cisco CableCARD CANH Screen

Click on the Host ID screen and you''ll see:

Cisco CableCARD(tm)
In order to start service for
this device please call
Ph: (855) 286-1736 ---->>> pay no attention to this phone number

CableCARD ID:0-011-430-223-690
Host ID:0-570-000-240-657
Type:One-Way Authorization Received ====>>This will say one-way until paired and then it will appear as it is here.

the moto card can be reached the same way, I just don't have the menu items for it. You'll have to look at the links

Thanks

The results are:
In order to start service for
this device please call
Ph: 1-866-301-1947
CableCARD ID:cccc
Host ID:hhhhhh
Type:One-Way Authorization Received

So if this screen can get the id and card id how come the diagnostic device tab cannot get it and why does it say
'In order to start service...' and One-way. We do have a Tuning Adapter on it.

Cisco changed the formatting of the pairing information in a recent CableCARD firmware update (there is no machine-readable way to get this info, we screen-scrape the CableCARD MMI pages). Our next version handles this new formatting. Regarding the "In order to start service" message, that message always says that and it does not know if the card is paired/not paired.

I am now in the process of changing from my tower to an HTPC case.

Just installed the HTPC PC, moved card from tower to HTPC, moved cables from tower to HTPC.

The pairing info is now there again on the Device tab. If this was a firmware change then it would still be missing.

So why is it now working??????

We enhanced our latest version of the Ceton Diag Utility to handle the new CableCARD firmware.
