HD HomeRun Video Issues

HD HomeRun Video Issues
I just recently purchased a HD homerun for viewing over the air channels... i am having a few issues though. On my main media center the the video is a little bit choppy.
Specs:
I3 540
4GB Memory
ATI 4850
500gb HDD
I have no issues at all playing blurays or HD content... all the video drivers are updated.
Also in my office i also installed the tuners in there and i have no issues at all
specs:
Q6600
260gtx
4gb memory
Also both systems are running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I was just wondering if anyone had run into any similar issues like this before?

Probably something with the GPU. Try disabling the ATI GPU and switch to the i3 540 and see if that fixes it.

What type of network do you have? Does your HDHR have the latest drivers and firmware?

What is your signal quality? Given this is OTA content, it could be a signal issue.

I made sure i had the latest firmare and drivers.... I am thinking it has something to do with that spacific machine as it works fine in my office. I will try the onboard video when i get a chance and see if that resolves the issue.

Signal quality is also good anyware from 90-100%.... i dont think it has anything to do with that because it works great in my office.

I have disabled network throttling and that seems to have made things better but not perfect.... i think i will try my video card next to see if that is the issue.

I second the network question.
Do you have a wired network with a quality switch, separate from the router?
I found that using Verizon's router for switching purposes created too many "network issues" when watching live tv on the extenders, but layering the TV network through a dedicated gigabit switch resolved the issues. I still use Verizon router to get IP addresses and have the system access internet, but video traffic is sent strictly through the dedicated switch.

I have a gigabit wired network with two switches and one router... I do have the HDHR going into my rounter and i havn't tried going directly into the switch. Everything has the latest drivers and firmware. I aslo dont understand why the tv has no studder in my office but it has it on my main livingroom HTPC. The main difference is the video cards... the livingroom has a 4850 and the office has a 260GTX. I just dont know if it has something to do with my video card or not. I can really notice the studdering when watching sports. Thanks again for all the help.

I plugged the HDHR directly into my switch with little improvment... I am thinking it must be something with the video card.

I have insalled a new video card a GT430... i have noticed alot of improvement with this card it is still not as smooth as i would like it to be but it is alot better. I will keep messing aroung to see if i can get it perfect.

Poor coax/f-connector connections can cause some anomolies much like macroblocking. You may want to see what you can eliminate as far as splitters and excess connections are concerned and reterminate any bad connections.

I do have a cheap splitter plugged in... i will remove that and see if that helps.

I have removed the splitter with little to no difference... i might throw in a nother drive and reload the OS to see if that could be the issue... I also noticed that recorded tv is alittle choppy but not as bad as the live tv. I just dont get it because i can play bluray perfectly with no issues.

Nope... it has over 300gb's of free space... it is the same drive as my OS i plan on putting in another driver for recordings just havn't gotten around to it.

I experience some pixelation/ macroblocking when my drive is low on space. You may want to wait and see how tjings are after you add a drive if your issue is minor.

So i reinstalled my OS and now the TV is perfect. I did put the OS on a 80GB SSD though... so I am not sure if that is why it is working good or if the OS just needed to be reloaded. I also have the 500GB HDD as my record drive so everything is working perfectly now.
